About John Marzka

A football coach with 30 years of experience at the NCAA DI and DIII levels, John Marzka is the associate head coach and offensive coordinator (OC) at Milford Academy in New Berlin, New York. In his first year with the program in 2022, he helped guide the team to an 8-1 record against college junior varsity opponents and coached the team's quarterback to a record-setting season with 27 touchdowns, the most by a Milford quarterback in more than 100 seasons. John Marzka spent the prior 15 seasons as the head football coach of an NCAA DIII program in Pennsylvania, where he led his team to the post-season ten times, won 2 conference championships and an additional 5 post-season bowl championships while graduating 226 of 228 senior players. John Marzka also served in various coaching capacities at Thiel College, Fordham University, and Allegheny College. He began his coaching career as an offensive and defensive line coach at Erie Academy High School in his home town of Erie, PA. In addition to coaching, he has experience as both an academic coordinator and recruiting coordinator for the college programs he served. Mr. Marzka graduated from Allegheny College with a bachelor of arts in psychology and is an active member of the American Football Coaches Association. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and backpacking. He backpacked rim-to-rim across the Grand Canyon with his son in 2014.
